East Coast is a very remote area of the North Island, but it has plenty to offer. It is well off the beaten track, which makes it very attractive for people who want to chill out away from the crowds.

Ngatapa. A small village 25 km north west of Gisborne, mainly farming area.... see road map ...On the road to Ngatapa you can drop in to a few boutique wineries, or continue the road to visit the National Arboretum - Eastwoodhill and go for a "fun-ride" down the Rere Rock Slide.
